Hello parents! The BITE Lab (Behavioral Investigations of children’s and Teens’ Eating) is seeking research participants between the ages of ~7-17 for intervention and non-intervention studies addressing eating, weight, and thinking patterns. Participants will be compensated and may receive pictures of their brain! Project REST

An observational study of sleep and eating behavior in which children will:

  • Attend 5 study visits over 4-5 weeks
  • Complete surveys and games throughout the week on a smartphone
  • Change their sleep patterns for two weeks
  • Undergo 2 MRI scans (optional)

Project THINK

A longitudinal study of weight, eating behavior, and cognition in which children will:

  • Attend 5 study visits over 2 years
  • Complete computer brain games and questionnaires/interviews
  • Undergo 2 possible MRI scans

Project HOME

A treatment study for teenagers ages 12-18 with restrictive-type eating disorders in which teens will:

  • Attend therapy sessions in their homes 2-3 times a week
  • Complete questionnaires and interviews every 6-12 weeks

Project VIBE

A study for teenagers ages 13-17 with dysregulated eating behaviors in which teens will:

  • Complete an app design interview and questionnaires virtually or in-person (~1 hour)
  • Help develop a mobile app to support teens with overeating or binge eating
